'Canillas' (as it is affectionately known) is situated on the slopes of the Sierra de Tejeda and Almijara mountains and so the surrounding areas are rich in pine groves scrubland and cork and are ideal for rambling and outdoor activities.

The view to the valley to the coast is wonderful, as are the views to the mountains which in Winter months are sometimes capped in snow.

The original buildings of the hotel date back to the 16th century and were carefully and tastefully renovated and restored to create this charming and traditional rural hotel.Within Posada La Plaza , a blend of Moorish architecture, local craftsmanship and traditional decoration, gives each room a very unique, individual and authentic Spanish ambience.
